People with healthy immune systems usually recovers without any treatments. Doctors can prescribe anti-diarrhea pills, however infected individuals can just manage the diarrhea by drinking lots of fluids to prevent dehydration.

People with weakened immune systems (people with AIDS or other diseases that affect the immune system) can have severe symptoms and need to contact their health care provider and need to get therapy. The outbreak of Cryptosporidiosis led to dozens of deaths in the city's HIV-AIDS community.
